There are no scheduled classes coming up, but…
…you can arrange one for yourself or a group via Zoom, or we can make arrangements to meet in person.
If you or your guild or even just a group of your friends would like to get together and have me teach a class, the following are the topics that I am most passionate about sharing. All classes can be remote via Zoom or in person.
Fleece to Yarn: Best over two or more days. The more days, the deeper we can go into each part, especially the spinning. We will start with a raw fleece, learn all about good and bad fleece, wash the fleece, then comb and spin it into a decent sized skein of yarn.
During each stage, I will share with you my specific methods for handling, washing, storing, combing and spinning into a very consistent worsted yarn.
The above class is everything rolled into one class. Below is each stage broken into its own class.
All About Fleece: This is a learn to be your own judge when it comes to choosing a fleece class. The best shopper is an educated one and I’ll help you learn what makes a fleece a good one or one to pass on.
Washing Fleece: Now that you’ve bought that fleece, how to go about washing it? It’s not as intimidating as you might think. I’ll walk you through the process, step by step, so you gain confidence and end up with beautifully clean fleece ready for processing.
Combing: Oh boy do I love to comb! Whether you are a beginner or have been combing for a while, I’ll show you how I comb and help troubleshoot common issues so your combing experience will be the absolute best it can be!
Worsted Spinning: I’m a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to my yarn. That doesn’t mean you have to be though. I will show you my process and record keeping methods for the smoothest, most consistent worsted spun yarn possible. It can also be applied to woolen spinning.
This is a deep hole and we can spend a considerable amount of time spinning different kinds of yarn.
When it comes to the cost for classes, I’m very flexible. I don’t have set fees. I try and work with you. To me, passing on knowledge is more important than how much money I get paid. Zoom would be the most cost effective but in person is of course generally best.
